The animals in the ZVH are kept and bred under "specific pathogen free" (SPF) or "specific and opportunistic pathogen free" (SOPF) conditions.
The health profile we examine is in accordance with the recommendations of the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA).
SOPF animals are additionally tested for the presence of Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staph. aureus.
The examinations are carried out quarterly. The results are documented in a health certificate which can be viewed (see download on the homepage).
