Central facility for biological and biomedical research with laboratory animal husbandry (ZVH-670)

The ZVH is a central facility at the University of Hohenheim in which small laboratory rodents (mouse, rat) are kept and bred under standardized conditions. The implementation of animal welfare requirements are ensured by veterinarians and animal keepers, as well as by the university´s animal welfare officers and their deputies. The ZVH has an animal keeping area of around 200 sqm, which is divided into two areas: a breeding area for core breeding and keeping animals under particularly high hygienic requirements (SOPF status) and an experimental area (SPF status). All scientists at the University of Hohenheim are entitled to use it with consent of the animal house management.

For the delivery of animals as well as for breeding orders, please always use the appropriate form on the ZVH homepage. (Downloads on German version of the homepage: "Abholen von Versuchstieren" and "Expansionszucht für Versuchszwecke") Please do not save the forms as they may be reviewed and updated regularly.
